Kimagure Orange Road

I must admit though, that orange Road has one of the most interesting opening and one of the most romantic endings I have seen. But some of the fillers in the middle are a pain to get through. That's why it didn't leave an impression on me, unlike Hana Yori Dango or Marmalade Boy in which the plots are very twisted and there are no filler episodes, which make the story become very intense. However, I understand that the reason for its extreme popularity is that it was aired only 1 episode a week when it was released, so people find them very exciting. But if you appear to watch them all 48 episodes in one go, you will see that the story is not connected at all.

excel saga

all characters are quite amusing, and very much aware of their place in the series. Excel is just too much to handle, but doesn't become too annoying as many of her recent 'clones'. fortunately she has Hyatt to balance out the scale and her 'quirk' does well to provide some entertaining moments.
in the end i'd have to say Watanabe's persona of Nabeshin and Illpalazzo were by far the most entertaining characters, and it is worth mentioning Pedro although at times he seems to be pushing a typecast for a plot device. everybody else puts in their fair share, and depending on personal preference, you'll either enjoy them all or not.

so in the end, i'd recommend this to anyone who has been dissapointed with the more recent comedic offerings to take a look back and see how it's meant to be done. and as for the parodies, the ones i managed to notice were done impeccably well, and i was extremely pleased when a few i was expecting showed up.
